Does a grade really matter?

jfs-ratings-comdexpostPeople often are looking for a low price, but at the same time are leery about getting poor qualify. In the insurance world to help you know you are getting insured from a reliable, quality insurance company the carriers get graded by rating agencies. Some examples are Moodys, Standard and Poor’s, Fitch, and AM Best.
But the trouble with all these different letter grades is that it can be very confusing to try and understand. For example a B+ grade from Stand & Poor is actually considered very weak. Moody’s has over 21 different letter grades along with Fitch. What is much easier to understand than the company letter grades (AAA, AA,A-, etc) is the COMDEX Score that simply compiles all these grades together and gives you an actual number score for the company going from 0-100 with 100 being the best. You may be surprised to know what companies actually don’t have a great score but are well known.
